Franklin County Board of Education announces the appointment of a new member.

On Friday, December 11, 2009 the Franklin County Board of Education appointed Mr. Marion (“Bo”) Lowery to fill the District 3 post when Dale Farmer was appointed to the District 5 post. 

Mr. Lowery was born in Columbus, Georgia.  He moved to the Sandy Cross community when he was only 3 months old, with his mother and two sisters, following the death of his father. 

Mr. Lowery and his sisters attended Franklin County Schools and graduated from Franklin County High School. 

He met his wife, Jimmie Howell, while a student at FCHS.  They have been married for 35 years and reside in Lavonia.  He and his wife have 2 daughters and 2 grandsons. 

Mr. Lowery works in Royston at Tri-County Chevrolet as the parts manager.

He considers it an honor to work with our Board of Education and will work hard for the Franklin County School System.
