On behalf of the entire Franklin County School District team, I want to extend to you a warm welcome to one of the premier school districts in Georgia. In our district, which is located in the northeast part of the state, you will find a devoted and skilled team of staff, hard-working and committed students, supportive and proud parents, and an entire community that shares our vision. We strongly believe that that we are a family in Franklin County and in working together for the success of all of our students. As the great poet said, “Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean.”

Our students are at the heart of all that we do in our district. We provide a rigorous and engaging curriculum designed to prepare our students with infinite opportunities to find future success beyond graduation. Our goal is to equip all of our students with the life-long skills today that will be necessary to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

Yes, we do have high expectations for each and every student. Academic achievement is important, and we want our students to demonstrate mastery of the standards they have been taught. However, we also have a strong desire for them to develop positive attitudes toward learning. In addition to their studies in a traditional classroom, students have the opportunity to take advanced (college) classes, learn work-ready skills in our brand new state of the art career academy, and enroll in a work-based learning program. Our students excel outside of the classroom as well. Franklin County offers a rich agricultural program, numerous state championship athletic programs, and an award-winning performing arts program.

We are extremely proud about all the opportunities we provide our students as well as our many accomplishments. However, our proudest achievement is our learning environment. Every student in our district is loved and provided a safe environment in which to excel. I am proud that my three sons all attend Franklin County Schools, and I hope we will have the opportunity to serve your children as well. I encourage you to join in the ocean of success, the passion to do what is best for our students, and become a member of the pride in Franklin County Schools. Remember, it’s a great day to be a Lion!
