Bus Safety
This is a safety announcement on behalf of Franklin County Schools:
As you know, school buses play an important part of the students day. It is a vital link between home and school. While you are driving, please be mindful of buses and be prepared to stop.
Once the flashing lights have turned red and the stop signs have extended from the side of the bus, it is unlawful for any vehicle to pass the stopped school bus while it is loading or unloading passengers. On a highway divided by a median, cars traveling on the opposite side from the stopped school bus are not required to stop. Drivers will be recording license plates of violators and will report incidents to local authorities.
Safety is the number one priority of Franklin County Schools. Please help us take care of our students as we prepare them for the challenges of tomorrow.
